Members and guests must wear appropriate attire at all times while in the Clubhouse public spaces. For gentlemen this means wearing a suit, jacket or blazer, dress shirt, necktie (no string ties, ascots, or turtlenecks), and appropriate dress shoes (no white rubber-soled shoes and no dress sneakers). For ladies this means tailored clothing, including dresses, suits, or pants with jackets of equivalent formality (no bare midriffs or daytime bare shoulders), and appropriate dress shoes (no casual sandals). The only acceptable dress code exceptions are for national-dress, military, or religious attire. During weekdays, Members and guests in athletic or casual attire must use the Club’s side entrance or rear alley entrance.
The use of cell phones and other electronic devices is prohibited in the Club, except for in the Correspondence Lounge, lobby telephone booths, private dining rooms, and guest rooms.
The Metropolitan Club is located at 17th and H Street NW. It is one block south of the Farragut West Metro station and two blocks south of Farragut North Metro station. There are several nearby public parking garages on H Street. Members and guests receive discounted lunchtime parking at the SP+ Parking lot at 1750 H Street and the Colonial Garage at 746 17th St. You must inform the attendant that you are having lunch at the Metropolitan Club and bring your parking stub to the Front Desk for validation. Valet parking is available in the evenings. The valet booth is located at the entrance of the SP+ Parking garage (1750 H Street) from 5:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., the booth will be located in front of the Clubhouse.
